- The AP US History Exam will be given on May 15 at 2:00 PM Eastern Time
- There will be a makeup exam opportunity on June 3 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time
- Students will be able to take exams on any device they have access to—computer, tablet, or smartphone. They will be able to either type and upload their responses or write responses by hand and submit a photo via their cell phone.

- Only 5 documents, 1 of which will be a non-text based source (photo, political cartoon, graph, chart, etc.)
- Your DBQ response will be graded on the following criteria:
- Respond to the prompt with a historically defensible thesis or claim that establishes a line of reasoning.
- Describe a broader historical context relevant to the prompt.
- Support an argument in response to the prompt using at least 4 documents.
- Use at least 2 additional pieces of specific historical evidence (beyond that found in the documents) relevant to an argument about the prompt.
- For at least 2 documents, explain how or why the document’s point of view, purpose, historical situation, and/or audience is relevant to an argument.
- Use evidence to corroborate, qualify, or modify an argument that addresses the prompt.
- Respond to the prompt with a historically defensible thesis or claim that establishes a line of reasoning.

- The DBQ will be based on a topic/s from Periods 3-7 (1763-1945). That encompasses the post-French and Indian War period through WWII.
- You will have 45 minutes to analyze the documents and write your response, and then 5 minutes to upload your response
- In late April, before the test, CollegeBoard will provide AP students and educators with information on how to access the testing system on test day, and video demonstrations so that students can familiarize themselves with the system.
