AP US History: Go through the PowerPoint presentation on the Progressive Era. Many of the slides have lecture voice overs where I try to emphasize key content. Slides with audio will have a grey speaker icon in the middle of the slide. If you are planning to view the ppt on your phone, download the Microsoft PPT app if you have not already. If you don't open the file with Microsoft PPT you will not be able to view/hear it in its entirety. Please take detailed notes as you go through the presentation. Today you are going to view a couple of PowerPoints and take some notes. Please take detailed notes on both PowerPoint presentations, as you will have a test at the end of the week and you will want to use your notes. The first presentation is about immigration and the immigrant experience during the Gilded Age. The second presentation focuses on American's continued migration westward during the Gilded Age. I have added some voice over to several of the slides. Fair warning, these are not the most polished lectures but I try to emphasize the key information that you need to know in order to be successful on future quizzes/tests. You should see a speaker icon in the top left hand corner of each slide which you can click to start the recording. If you are not using a computer that has Microsoft PowerPoint and are planning on viewing the PowerPoints on your phone, please download the free Microsoft PowerPoint App. All you have to do is download the app and register with an active email address. If you don't have an email, make a Gmail account! This will allow you to view the PowerPoints in their full form and hear the recorded lecture. Once you've downloaded the PPT file on your phone, open it in the Microsoft PPT App to view it. Both PPTs are linked below. After viewing the second PPT, watch a short video excerpt on Native American boarding schools (around minute 39:30- minute 46:00 of the video), video linked below. quizizz.com/join?gc=014503 Good morning! Today you will watch "Crash Course U.S. History # 25: Growth, Cities, and Immigration" and answer the questions that go with it. Remember, there is a digital copy of the Crash Course questions on yesterday's post below. You have two options to turn this in. If you want to submit a single word document or pdf of your answers, upload the answers to Turnitin.com. If you are taking pictures, its best to just send those to me via Remind 101, unless you can combine your photos into a single file. Remember, all pictures of work must have your name, date, and class period in the upper right hand corner of each page. The Crash Course questions are due by the end of the day. Link to the video below. Once that is completed, begin reading the textbook excerpt on Gilded Age labor unions and strikes attached below. As you read, complete the accompanying questions and charts, also posted below. These notes are due by the end of tomorrow, via Turnitin. If you are working on your phone and not a computer, I'd recommend downloading the Google Docs app so you can open the notes document in google and edit it. Then you can just upload the filled in note sheet to Turnitin from Google Drive.
