Good morning, everyone. Today I'd like you to analyze a few primary sources related to FDR's "Court Packing Bill", which I briefly discussed in yesterday's lecture. New Deal Podcast
AP and Honors Students: Please complete the New Deal notes from yesterday. Make sure you have filled out the graphic organizer of major New Deal programs using the textbook chapter posted yesterday. Once you've completed the New Deal Part 1 notes and the New Deal programs organizer I posted Wednesday, please take the Quizizz linked below. For the first several questions, you will be given a short description of one of the major New Deal programs you learned about from the textbook reading and will need to type in the name of the program that it is describing. Acceptable answers include the full name of the program or the acronym for the program. For example, if the description describes the Social Security Act, both "Social Security Act" and "SSA" would be acceptable answers. Since most of the quiz questions are free response, you will need to make sure you have done the reading and completed the organizer to be successful. Please message me if you have any questions! Remember, no new work will be assigned on Fridays, so use tomorrow to work on any incomplete assignments from earlier this week.

AP and Honors Students: *If you didn't view the Great Depression lecture from yesterday, please do so before moving on. Today, I'd like you to view the next episode of the ABC series "The Century: America's Time". This episode is titled "Stormy Weather" and provides an excellent overview of the Great Depression, using film from the period and interviews with Americans who lived through it. The video also introduces President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the recovery efforts of the New Deal, and the rise of fascism in Europe. As you watch the episode, please answer the questions attached below. In order to receive credit for this assignment you will need to put some thought and effort into your responses. Your answers should be detailed and written in complete sentences. Once completed, please upload your answers to Turnitin.com or send them to me via Remind 101.
AP US History: Please read the short summary of the major causes of the Great Depression posted below. After reading, view/listen to the PPT presentation and lecture and take notes. I've attached guided notes that you can fill out as you view/listen to the lecture if you would like, or you can take notes free hand. Please check out the videos I attached above to listen to some popular songs from the Great Depression and see what a bank run and the Dust Bowl looked like. I would also encourage you to listen to two episodes of the podcast "American History Tellers" embedded below. They cover the early years of the Great Depression and are excellent!

You do not need to answer the questions attached with the reading, but take notes. After reading, watch the short video on Marcus Garvey, leading advocate of black nationalism in the early 20th century. Take notes.
