In today's class, we finished our discussion on the major turning points of WWII in the European and Pacific theaters of the war. See yesterday's post for the notes. Asynchronous Classwork: In order to learn about life on the U.S. home-front during WWII, you will watch a series of short videos about rationing, the role of women, challenges faced by African-Americans, Japanese-American internment, and the Manhattan Project. As you watch each video, answer the accompanying questions (questions and video links are attached below). Submit your responses to Turnitin.com by the end of the class period (3rd Block by 1:51 and 4th Block by 3:30).

Classwork/Homework: Using the textbook chapters attached below, research the major programs and legislation that made up the New Deal. As you read, complete the accompanying graphic organizer, also attached below. Make sure that your notes are detailed and accurate! You will need this organizer in order be successful on the summative quiz covering the New Deal policies tomorrow.
In today's class we finished our notes on the Roaring 20's by discussing prohibition, the Red Scare, the resurgence of the KKK, and the Scopes Monkey Trial. Next, we learned about the underlying causes of the Great Depression, the most severe economic recession in our nation's history.
Classwork/Homework: Watch the episode "Stormy Weather" from the series The Century: America's Time. This episode discusses the impact of the Great Depression on Americans and other industrialized countries and these nations' response, or lack thereof. As you watch, do two things: 1.) Fill in the section of your Great Depression notes under the "What were the effects of the Great Depression?" 2.) Answer the questions on the viewing guide attached below.
